I was going through my massive pile of drawings that I need to ink and colour and finish and all that jazz, and found this one and shoved it at the top of my to finish pile, since, despite it being a few months old and getting into "OMG THIS IS BAD", I still thought it was cute and wanted to finish it.

I thought my sister could use some cheering up, so here we have just a standard picture of Erica, who is standing and being cheery, and being the spokeswoman for Secret Deordorant. Okay, actually, the original intent was to practice this sort of pose, in which a character is putting thier arm up in the air in such a fashion, because I find the whole shoulder connecting to the arm thing really annoying and tricky to draw. It isn't as hard to draw from this point of view but from the front I usually draw total suckage. So yes, thats what I did. And then I had fun fashion designing, and thought Erica would look fun in a skirt, so thus I drew her in a skirt.

I thought this one was still pretty good, even after a few months However, what is NOT good is my INSUFFERABLY MISERABLE inking. I don't know what I did to her hair but I definately didn't do it justice, and I actually forgot to fix up the inking (after I had finished the picture) on one part of her arm (you can tell right away where it is. Trust me.) and then her leg got inked all wobbly and horrible, and UGH OMG. I'm such a moron at inking!!! And of course, my scanner and my inking always work hand in hand to screw up my artwork, and so my scanner decided to dull all of the colours on this picture. But that wasn't the worst of it, you all.

Literally, my scanner tried to KILL my Mac. EVERYTIME I tried to use my scanner during the scanning process of this one and a few others, my scanner completely just didn't work and just went all stupid and ARGADFASFAS!!! And then, AFTER...when I unplugged my scanner from the back of my Mac, IT SOMEHOW TURNED OFF MY COMPUTER SCREEN AND IT WOULDN'T COME BACK ON!!! And when it did after I fiddled around with the cords, it came on with GIGANTIC everything and then screwed up all my colours and OMG!

And i know you all are going to be like, "Well maybe some wires just weren't plugged in right", or "Maybe your monitor is fried?"... BUT IT WAS MY SCANNER! I mean just MAGICALLY when I did something with my scanner my computer went all AHHHHHH!!! and wierdo and stuff..THATS NOT A COINCIDENCE!! *flails about* I'll get you scanner, if it's the last thing I dooooooooooooo!!!

Anyway. Enough of that. Originally, the border was supposed to be a dark navy blue, and then I think somewhere I screwed up when I was outlining it that I decided I would just colour over everything, and just make it all black. I actually did use straight lines originally, but somehow all my straight lines end up being all WEeeEeeeeEEeWOOoOOo and stuff. My scanner also decided to scan that in horrible and grainy. The background.. I didn't feel like doing anything too crazy so I just left it nice and simple and blended some colours together. Which all didn't scan in right at all. I'll never surrender to my scanners forces of evil. NNNEVVVOOOORRRR!!
