Holy crap, I actually have a picture done in time for the said holiday!!!
I've been finally getting back into drawing all my characters, and here I present to you bouncy, quick-witted Jonathan Hemlich (I'll get into him later, incase you guys don't remember him, but you can read a brief description of him at
:thumb471222: YES I KNOW THE PICTURE IS HORRENDOUS.)
As you may or may not know, Jon here is Jewish, and the Jewish celebrate Chanukah, which actually starts today! I was just sitting there one day and I came up with this idea, and thought it would be cute. Jonathan, like most of my male characters, seems to have an aura of messing-up about him, and here he demonstrates it, as he turns an easy event of lighting the Menorah into well...well something quite disasterous! I think the Jewish culture is so interesting, so I guess thats what sparked me to draw this drawing, and to help everyone celebrate Chanukah!
Somehow, he managed to light the menorah, his dreidel, and also his yarmulkah on fire. Guess he won't be lighting the menorah next year....
I thought this was a really good picture, and even though I absolutely HATE going over my lines after I colour my drawings, I think it makes my drawings look WAY better...but ARGHHH I just HATE inking!!!! And I'm rather impressed with my Menorah. See, it being an inanimate object, I find those nearly impossible to draw... but with a little time, patience, and references I managed to draw a semi-decent one. It still looks like it's inflatable, but... but it's...still okay I guess. I figured since his dad's a rabbi he should have a good menorah And I dunno why the dreidel has a face... I just thought it would add to the cuteness. Hee hee either way I really like how this came out... Poor Jon.. I think he better get to the fire extinquisher instead of standing there wondering what the hell is happening...
I think it's spelled both ways When I looked up Chanukah, it came up just as well too, so I'm not really too sure, I've always spelled it like I did hee hee
Hee hee I know, and thanks os much for commenting on my artwork - it's nice to see people commenting on my things OTHER then fanart Thanks!
LOL I thought the dreidel would add a cute-funny factor to the picture, i'm actually impressed that I actually managed to not screw it up, it being an inanimate object and all (well... kinda...) .I'm not sure what the dreidel says, I just took a picture of one and recreated it hee hee Thankyou so much!
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I don't know the meaning of the word "surrender". I mean, I know it, I'm not dumb... just not in this context.
I'm a doctor, not an escalator.
