Ricky Has A Practice

OH JOY MORE PRACTICE DRAWINGS WE GO TOTALLY APESHIT FOR JESS AND HER PRACTICE DRAWINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO AWESOME!

(Just incase you can't tell, I was being super sarcastic thar. )

As I probably mentioned somewhere here a while back, or whenever, or I'm just making shit up again, I typically don't post any of my doodles and sketches and practice drawings because for some reason I just feel like people don't want to see them. But when I like them, or they serve some kind of a purpose, or something like that, I post them. My recent quest for drawing better and getting away from same face syndrome has been pretty fun, so I thought I'd post the drawings that I've done for that. (Except for the first Mac one I did. You will never, ever, ever see that one.)

I have a whole slew of this manilla coloured cardstock that I doubt that I would use for any coloured drawings so I thought I'd use them for some practice drawings. I wanted to draw more guy characters because quite honestly, I find guys more fun to draw. I just like to draw females a lot because I like to create fun fashions and sometimes, you just can't do that with guy characters. XD

So next up for my practicing (aka my next sacrificial victim) is...RICKY! He has a super soft fluffy tail of super soft fun! It truly is a magical tail. A magical tail of fluffyness that everyone surrenders to. I wish I could have a tail like his. Hell, I wish I had a tail period. Why did humans have to loose our tails? NO FAIR, EVOLUTION. NO FAIR AT ALL.

(...Because we at one point had tails, right? Or...um...maybe not...God, I don't know, it's late. I have no interest in going all evolutiony right now.)

I wish I was one of my cat people things ,because somewhere in their evolutionary whatever, they never lost their tails, even tho theres really no point for their tails at all.

Anyway. So here is Ricky's practice drawing. I've been using him a lot for practicing. He's been super fun to draw lately. I think I just enjoy the challenge of drawing him; in the past I've never been able to draw him properly without making it look like he has shit explode all over him, so I guess I've just been going crazy drawing him all the time. Clarice doesn't mind; She uses them as voodoo devices. She has yet to realize that my pictures don't work well for voodoo, but insists eventually if she rips out his crotch in pictures and stomps all over it he will feel lots and lots of pain. Anyway.

So anyway, just...just really Ricky hanging out. I was determined NOT to put his stupid hands in, on, around, or anywhere even remotely touching his pants because everytime I draw Ricky I always put his stupid hand somewhere on his pants. Usually in his pockets. So here, he's just...putting his hand at his side, and raising the other one. YAY A TOTALLY NEW ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR JESS! We're really proud of you Ricky, for you have learned how to stand in a new and exciting way.

Anyway I really like how the full bodied picture came out, so I might just like, rip that picture off and trace it or something onto a new sheet of paper so I can colour it. I'm still working out drawing front view "hockey player noses", which is what I like to call them. He's got a prominent bumpy thing on his nose, which sometimes I secretly wonder if it's from Clarice twacking him in the face and breaking his nose but in reality it's just a trait he's born with. TEE I love noses, especially ones with bumps in them. I don't know why, I just do. They're so..interesting. Anyway. So his nose is a little meh here, but I like how these pictures came out anyway. So we have a full bodied picture of Ricky chillin, and then some random face sketches to your right. I like the random face sketches, I think they came out okay. Usually when I do random face sketches at least one sketch will look incredibly DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRR HURRADKLF;ASJKLF;AJSKDL!! or something.

Clarice: He always looks DDUUURRRRRRR!!!.

Shut up Clarice, go finish yours and Ricky's fight somewhere else, GAWD. Anyway. So...yes. Nothing exciting, I know, but he's here, and he's FABBBBULLLOUUUUUSSS! Again, a really crummy looking tail here because when I draw characters, the tails are always, always, ALWAYS drawn really, really, really quickly and shittily. I don't know why. They just are. Sometimes before I ink a picture I'll go back and redraw them better so I know what the hell I'm inking, but usually I just make up shit as I go along HURRR.

I just realized right now that in the bottom right hand corner picture, he shaved. How nice! He looks weird. Don't shave, Ricky. You shall keep your face fuzzy...OR ELSE.

And you know what else I realized? In these pictures I actually don't bitch about my scans. My scanner actually doesn't ruin my sketches (knock on wood......... ) like it does the other 99.99999999% of my drawings. See, this is proof that my scanner CAN scan things in properly if it wants, IT JUST WON'T, because it's a dick.

So yes. Anyway. I like how this came out. I'll probably redraw the Ricky-roo full bodied picture so I shall colour him and have his tail all WOOOO.

Tee hee. Ricky Roo. He hops. 'Cuz he's a kangaroo.

(He's not a kangaroo, for the record, I'm just being stupid.)

So yes, just some more practice stuff. I'll probably move this to scraps eventually but for now, I'll shove it in your face. BECAUSE I CAN.
