The Magical Leopard Egg

Description

The funny thing is that I didn't even draw this anywhere around Easter. I just sorta drew it, for no apparent reason.

Because I do these things, draw pictures that seem seasonal no where near the time that said season is in, but I like to think of myself as prepared. Therefore, when Easter, or Christmas, or whatever comes around, I can say that I have a picture for the said season, and then link you to it.

I'm completely and totally smart like that. :icondurrhurrplz:

Anyway. As you all know, I've been totally drawing pictures with like, actual backgrounds and stuff, mostly because I want to improve, and because, as you know, people who view my gallery are probably sick of floating shapes chasing after my characters for backgrounds.

I don't really know why I drew this picture, I was just getting ideas for pictures and I saw this one pciture of this girl picking.... (is that even the right word here? Do you pick easter eggs? Is there like a tree in Cadburyland that has Easter eggs growing on it?)... easter eggs, and I thought it was a cute idea for a pic. I wanted to draw Mercy because I hadn't drawn her for a while, and I wanted to throw in some cat-isms so... yeah. Mercy's good for cat-isms.

So here we have Mercy, evidently going on an Easter egg hunt...when all of a sudden, she finds the mysterious egg that was laid by the legendary and mysterious Easter Leopard.

How a leopard lays eggs we will never know. Could be like that freaky Cadbury bunny who lays Easter eggs. Either that or the leopard found a coup of chickens, stole an egg, said, "MY EGG NAO. I PAINTZ IT LYK MEH." and then just forgot it somewhere after it got bored playing with it.

Or, really, the initial idea was that she was stoked to find an egg that matched her headband and belt!

Really just wanted to draw something cute that I could put a background in. As you can see, evidently she might be in Wonderland or something, because everything looks really small and cute like they would in a place such as Wonderland. But then again, most things are kinda big in Wonderland, but Mercy could have ate that pill thingie (which, knowing Alice in Wonderland, was actually probably supposed to be LSD. XD) that made her super big. So yes. Perhaps we have a huge Mercy. Now no kitteh can escape her because she can scoop up several at one time and take them all home with her. I just think the background looks really goofy and cartoony, almost like they are cutouts or something of trees. XD I mean I like the picture, but seriously those trees make me laugh. And why do I always draw trees coming out from the sides of my pictures? Why do I never draw trees in the middle of things? Is this some psychological problem I have or something?

(You have a lot of psychological problems, Jess.)

Shut up, Brain. I'm deep in thought about why my trees are always on the sides of my pictures.

I guess I just like trees framing the picture or something. Sort helps the balance of the picture or something, since my characters are usually in the middle of the pictures, so having too many things in the middle maybe makes things...cluttered or something. I dunno. Just a theory. (Or, just another excuse to make my descriptions THAT MUCH LONGER.)

Again, nothing super fancy, just something I felt like doing that was cute. I'm having fun doing backgrounds in my pictures now. First I really hated them because they always turned out like crap but slowly but surely they are getting better. But of course, they still have that nice touch of fail that you all know and love.

Anyway. I had fun with her outfit, even tho its pretty simple. I don't really draw a lot of my characters in dresses, mostly because I never wear them myself, (like a lot of other people, my art is kinda an extension of myself. It's like being Stretch Armstrong, but with like, giant pencils and coloured pencils and stuff. That stretch out and pretend to be me, or something. I'll just shut up right about nao.) so... I guess thats why I always draw characters in jeans or whatever. But for the sake of fashion, and because I really do like dresses, just not on me, I decided to draw more characters with dresses on them! OH YAY WHAT A NOVEL IDEA! So here she is with a cute little sundress. I like how her pose turned out, altho she does have strangely shaped boobs. Not strange enough where it bugs me, but its still strangely shaped. I like her cute little basket but I think I once again, failed at drawing an inanimate object. It's all wobbly and stuff.

And don't ask me where the rest of her legs went. I like to pretend they are somewhere under her dress. But the more obvious reason is because I couldn't draw them properly, if I ever drew them at all. XD

And as per usual, my scanner messed up this one. It's not really all that obvious, but there are a lot of parts where the picture looks really dull and stuff.

And for the record, the green blobs there are supposed to be bushes, not Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas. (That is his name, right?)

I wonder what she'll do with those eggs? Do you think when they hatch, they hatch kittehs? That would be so divine! :icondawwplz:

Wonder what Easter kittehs give for Easter? Other then, of course, hairballs, random puddles of throw up, and a lifetime of fur covering everything.

And, of course, cheezburgers.

Anyway, just really a cute picture I felt like doing. Not the greatest, but I still like it :D Mercy is always fun!
