The Most Wonderful Time

Description

I've said it once and I'll say it again. I really hate how deviantART doesn't let me write longer titles. Seriously.

(It's keeping it under a thousand words or less, you moron.)

But you all know I don't know how to do that.

ANYWAY.

So there Josh and I were the other day, on our way to the grocery store. We walk everywhere, and it was a Tuesday, the Tuesday after a very large, very crappy snow storm. (Which is kinda odd, because we don't usually get a lot of snow until after Christmas). The roads were absolutely dreadful, slushy, and there were a bajillion of cars out on the road (why is it that when the weather is bad, everyone feels compelled to get into their cars and drive like morons? Why?) all finishing their Christmas shopping I would presume, and the sidewalks were not plowed at all. We basically just walked on an already beaten down path. The bottom of my pants were absolutely soaked (for the record, anyone who knows me knows that I CAN NOT stand the bottom of my pants being wet.) and, really, just another day in Canada.

While at the stop light, I started to sing "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" jokingly (and incredibly out of tune.) Because it just reminded me all the "pains" of Christmas we all have to go through every single year. I do a lot of my shopping online or in October and November so that way I don't have to deal with it, but there are still those times when you gotta get last minute stuff in and you feel like ripping your hair out because of all the people pushing and shoving and the lines long and never ending at the checkout.

So, I thought I would draw a little something. Now, originally, this was supposed to actually be really nice looking and awesome, but I wanted something else to post for Christmas so -

(So you drew something really quickly and really shittily.)

NO, BRAIN. I wanted to draw a quick drawing showing all the annoying things we have to go through this time of the year.

(....really shittily.)

ANYWAY. So here we have our little snoopie doopies (LOLWUT???), showing what we "love" about Christmas. So....

Left: Mac. What Maccy Mac is going through in this is pretty much the same thing I go through every year. Lets face it. Christmas is never nice on our pockets, no matter HOW much we say we won't spend, or how many people we won't buy gifts for. For me, theres always one other little thing that I want to pick up for someone, and then that one other little thing turns into two, or three, or four, and then I'm pretty much fucked right thar. And it's not really even just the presents, either. It's other things, like food, decorations, and other such things. So here we have Mac, looking at the damage on his credit card bill and having a wonderful "OH #$#$!$!@" moment. I'm really familiar with that facial expression. Like myself, he goes a little overboard with gifts since when Mac shops, he does not do it cheaply (theres pretty much nothing in his waredrobe under like, $100 'cept for a few select items...). It's okay tho. He'll just get a temporary job as a mall Santa. Theres some cute girls there anyway dressed up like elves.
(Something tells me he won't last very long as Mall Santa Mac.)

Center: Ricky. Obviously drawn really horribly if you couldn't tell, Ricky is going through what I think everyone has gone through at least once or twice in their Christmas years. So you're about turn on your lights which you have spent about 5 hours doing, and then...as you flip that switch or plug them in...

They don't turn on.

BUT OF COURSE! :iconlarryplz: One of the bulbs is dead! Now you gotta go through 100000000 lights to find that one bulb thats dead! OH JOY! What fun it is! I thought I'd give Ricky Rick this position since he's a handy man. So Clarice probably asked him for some help. She probably purposely made one bulb dead. She thinks he's pretty hot when he's angry and flustered.

Right: Ajax. Now, we've seen Ajax doing this before a very, very, very long time ago. Ajax is doing one of my all time pains of Christmas. Wrapping presents. I -HATE- WRAPPING PRESENTS. I absolutely HATE it. Just ask anyone whose ever gotten a present from me. The gift basically looks like it went through a landmine. I just...GARESAFDSAFWERQREW!!! I HATE IT SO MUCH! The paper always rips and then pieces of tap get stuck to my hands and my legs -

(What? What the hell are you doing?? Your legs???)

And...and...then sometimes, I don't cut enough paper so then that makes me even more angry, and then sometimes I cut too much and then I gotta trim it down and then I end up ripping the stupid crappy ass paper. I suppose I should just put everything in those little bags. But then thats more money I have to spend when I can just spend a few bucks on wrapping paper. I guess once a year I can deal with the pain. So here we have Ajax attempting to wrap a gift, as his paper rips all over the place. I realize that it does not look like wrapping paper. It probably looks like goo. And that thing beside the gift is supposed to be a tape roll. FAIL.

Of course there are all kinds of pains we go through, but here are some that I felt like showcasing. I'll end up drawing something much better, but I thought I'd showcase this. Of course I think Mac turned out the best (he was drawn first, always works that way), but they were all drawn very quickly. For the record a good number of my drawings end up looking like this. I always draw really fast! Fast. Like greased lightning. Go greased lightning!

For those of you who can't read my writing, which is probably all of you, the middle says "It's the most wonderful time of year!".

But of course, it really is all worth it in the end tho, isn't it? All the money we spend, and all the annoying things we have to go through. To see the smile on our loved ones faces, and to spend time with our family and friends on Christmas day and stuff our faces with all kinds of goodies. We almost wish that it would never end and that it would be Christmas every day. We all must realize, tho, that it really isn't about the money we spend, or what we get another person, and just realize what the real meaning of Christmas is. I know that that's probably different for everyone. So whatever your true meaning of Christmas is, just let it be not about the gifts, and not about hating Walmart because it's SO GODDAMNED BUSY AND THERE ARE NEVER ANY @!#$#$!$# CASHES EVER OPEN.

I know. Ricky's lights don't look like lights. They kinda look like pussywillows.

Well, Ricky, I think that MIGHT just be the reason why you're lights are working, Einstein....

So yes, just my boyz having their own Christmas problems! They're so cute when they are flustered and angry and pissed off. Just how I like my characters.

LOL Wonderful indeed. I can relate to Ricky... though they make lights now so that if one burns out they still run :) YAY!

I love wrapping. It's my favourite part!! :D
