What The

So there I was one afternoon, sitting around watching countless hours of talk shows and Judge shows, in which my brain was completely shut off from functioning at any kind of level, when I decided to make myself useful and picked up a pencil and some paper and started doodling.

This was on the same day that I had only one of those unmechanical pencils (I fail to find the words for regular wooden pencils, as my brain has gone to moosh from watching too many stupid talk shows and Judge shows.)... so like..yeah. But anyway, I decided to work on facial expressions once again, and came up with this one of Joel, looking either perplexed, wondering what the hell Jon is doing, questioning your authorit-ay , or something of that nature. Perhaps even wondering what exactly that strange substance is on his Big Mac from McDonalds (because I think we all wonder that.), or perhaps he's wondering how exactly it is that I just choked on my Cheerios right now, and not really even the Cheerios but the MILK in my Cheerios. *blinks* We will never know what goes on in the mind of my character, but whatever it is it led to a good facial experiment

So here is Joel, who is fun to draw because of his very large bundle of joy that's attached to his head which probably hasn't been washed in 80 years. I just adore this expression, it's so simple, yet so cute all at the same time. I seem to lately just pick whatever eyebrow I feel like putting his eyebrow ring in, because over the years I honestly forgot which eyebrow it was supposed to be in. I think I originally intended for it to be in the left eyebrow but occassionally it'll find it's way to the right.

Anyway, so here he is. I really like the outcome of this, especially his neck. I actually have problems with necks a lot and can never figure out how to make it un-giraffelike but I find when I'm not think I usually do such a better job at drawing. The inking is pretty crappy still, as usual, especially on his bling, and I'm very annoyed that theres this annoying little black thing under his arm that I'm pretty sure my scanner put there ON PURPOSE because it hates me. It, like, tiddled all over my picture.

NYARRRGHHHH!!! *shakefist*

For the background, I didn't want anything too extravagant so I did something similar to that Zut Alors picture I uploaded a while back, where I took a random marker colour, and drew a shape, and coloured it in. In this picture, we see our friend Joel here is followed by a giant oval blob. Perhaps that is why he is confused.

However, I also pondered the idea that perhaps he is confused or perplexed as he appears to be missing the rest of his body. Little does he know that the artist is just too lazy to draw the rest of him.
